How do I book an appointment? How should I prepare for my first appointment?
You can book an appointment by clicking HERE or by emailing amy.lodesrd@gmail.com. After you have booked your appointment you will be sent some onboarding paperwork to complete prior to our first appointment. You can download the app on your phone or access the website from your computer where we will have the live video call.
What is telehealth? Do you do in-person appointments?
Currently, all appointments are held virtually through a privacy protected platform called, Healthie. This allows me to meet with my clients anywhere which provides flexibility in scheduling for you.
Do you accept my insurance? How much will it cost?
I may be able to bill your insurance, depending on your coverage. Many plans cover dietitian services 100%! See my Insurance Coverage 101 document for more information on insurance coverage. Then use the Insurance Coverage Checklist to call your insurance company to verify your benefits. I am currently in-network with United Healthcare, Aetna and Cigna.
If you do not have benefits or prefer to do cash pay. I accept a prompt payment options of $220 for Initial Consultation and follow up appointments are $50 per 30 minute. This is due when booking your appointment. I accept credit and debit cards, FSA, or HSA.
What is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist?
A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (aka Registered Dietitian, RD, or RDN) is an expert in food and nutrition who has met the following academic and professional requirements:
Earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Dietetics. Coursework includes: food and nutrition sciences, business, sociology, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, and chemistry.
Completed an accredited, extensive supervised practice program with direct patient contact at a health care facility, community agency, or food service corporation.
Passed a rigorous national registration examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Completes continuing professional education requirements to maintain registration on an ongoing basis.
What is Amy’s educational background?
I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and later a Master of Family and Consumer Science - Dietetics. I completed my dietetic internship with ARAMARK which provided hands-on practice and guidance from dietitian mentors. I have completed the Master Gut Healing course to hone my skills to solve your digestive issues. I am currently a student at the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy to continue learning how to uncover the root cause of your symptoms. I am a forever learner constantly reading, researching, and learning about nutrition and health; so if I don’t know it yet I’m working on it :)
